TLS Talent

AUG 2024 – BONJOUR FROM PARIS

Bonjour from Paris, where I’m lucky enough to be cheering on our talented Aussie athletes. The atmosphere here is electric, there’s been a multitude of golden Aussie moments and it’s wonderful to see how support from Australia is lifting all of the incredible athletes and inspiring them to give their best on the world stage. Of course, the main drawcard for me – besides eating delicious French cheese and croissants – is supporting our TLS talent, including track and field star Claudia Hollingsworth, water polo champ Tilly Kearns, and beach volleyball star Mariafe Artacho del Solar; and sharing some of the highs of early wins in their respective group stages. I’m also enjoying catching up with Paralympic golden girl Ellie Cole, who is bringing her expertise and incredible energy to the Nine Network’s Olympic commentary team.

I was thrilled to be in Scotland last month with rally driver Molly Taylor as she and driving partner Kevin Hansen took the double win in Rounds 3 & 4 of the Extreme E Hydro X Prix placing them and their team Veloce Racing firmly back at the top of the championship standings.

Back in Australia, our health and wellness experts are primed for some big events on the horizon, with RU OK Day (September 12) and World Heart Day (September 29) just around the corner. Our talent are renowned for bringing a compelling combination of expertise and personal insights to every panel discussion, speaking event or media opportunity they attend, and you can find details about booking them below.

While I’m in Paris, the TLS team is keeping the fires burning at home, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to reintroduce the lovely folk you might be contacting in my absence:

Kate MacAlpine – Talent and Brand Partnerships Manager
With oodles of passion and experience, Kate is our Talent and Brand Partnerships Manager, working with brands to create engaging campaigns, content and activations.

Joseph Dela Masa – Talent Coordinator
Known as the oracle for good reason, Joseph is a master at juggling hundreds of active opportunities for our talent, ensuring that our clients are happy and our talent are briefed and ready for their next assignment.

Abbey Daquiz – Administration Assistant
Our administrator extraordinaire Abbey takes care of the day-to-day with a big smile and a can-do attitude. She is the engine behind the team, making life easier for everyone.

And finally, we’re thrilled to have been nominated in this year’s Women in Media Awards and look forward to the Awards night on Friday 16th August. Wish us luck!

Til next month,

TLS TALENT SUITE

Team spirit is not only alive and well at the Olympics, but also evident in some fantastic recent partnerships between our talent and some savvy brands. Last month Carlene and Michael Duffy teamed up with Samsung to show how the brand’s The Frame TV and new Music Frame can be styled up beautifully on an art wall. Like everything Carlene and Michael do, the results were picture-perfect.

Bardie Somerville continues to fly the flag for women in trades through an inspiring partnership with the Queensland Government. Through a series of social media posts, Bardie has been showing that gender is no barrier to becoming a successful tradie.

Last month, Simon Toohey cooked up a storm as the Tastes of Greater Geelong event ambassador. The Masterchef alum and plant-based cook led his own food demonstration on farm-to-table cooking, and educated hungry attendees on the art of sustainable eating, serving up advice with his winning smile.

Finally, before Tilly Kearns headed to Paris, she gave her large number of social media followers some fabulous insights into the behind-the-scenes life of an elite athlete. In a brilliant partnership with Murine eye drops, she showed how she avoids red eyes after training and tournaments, so she can keep her eyes on the prize.

TLS SUITE READS

Food can have a big impact on your journey through perimenopause (and beyond), and dietitian Jaime Rose Chambers is on a mission to help every woman navigate this transition with confidence. Her book The Peri Diet, packed with 60 delicious and easy recipes, hits stores later this month (August 28), and is sure to be a well-thumbed reference for Aussie women.

Pre-order The Peri Diet here.

We’re also thrilled to announce that leading psychologist Dr Marny Lishman’s new book Crisis to Contentment is on the way. Marny – an alum of The Academy by TLS, who’s regularly called on to share insights in the media – is the author of 2023’s Burnout to Brilliant. This, her third book, will help readers navigate the challenges of adulthood. “People are eager to tap into the wisdom that comes from the angst of getting older, and to live a more content life than ever before,” Marny says.

Crisis to Contentment will be out early next year through Affirm Press.
