The TLS team has hit 2025 feeling refreshed and invigorated, it’s been one of the most action-packed starts to the year in our TLS history and we can’t wait to see what February brings.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and as much as we love the romantic vibes, here at TLS Talent we’re more focused on a different matter of the heart – our heart health. If, like us, you decided that 2025 was the year for setting healthy habits, February is the perfect time to cement your intentions and put them into action. To coincide with Heart Research Australia’s REDFEB initiative this month, we thought we’d share some of our experts’ tips to help you get passionate about heart health (see below).
Moving from heart strengthening to heart stopping, you can’t beat motorsport for sheer adrenaline. We’re buzzing about the achievements of two of our motorsport stars, who are absolutely killing it behind the wheel. Recently rally driver Molly Taylor made headlines for being named a standout performer in the Extreme E series, finishing the season as the series’ most successful female driver and claiming the highest start-to-win ratio of any driver in Extreme E’s 4yr history. Molly also had the opportunity to comment on the incredible impact that Extreme E’s gender equality initiatives have had on her career. It’s even more reason to get hyped about seeing Molly go up against some of the world’s best drivers at the Race of Champions event in Sydney on March 7-9 (tickets here). And on the track, F4 driver Aiva Anagnostiadis announced she’s driving with Cram Motorsport in the Formula Winter Series after making her debut on the weekend in Portimao. Expect some more exciting announcements for Aiva in the weeks ahead.
Start your engines and get ready for a fantastic month!

TLS EXPERTS

We’d barely turned over the calendar for 2025 before psychiatrist Dr Kieran Kennedy was called on to provide media comment about the recent Health of the Nation survey findings.
Also in demand was GP Dr Preeya Alexander, who started in her role as co-host of ABC Radio National’s Health Report and partnered with Envisage Families to support families navigating diagnoses for kids. Chef extraordinaire Simon Toohey has extended his partnership with Hemp Foods Australia, via a content collaboration with Eat Tassie Hemp.
And if you’re looking for new podcasts to devour, Preeya’s Happy to Health poddy is well worth a listen, while Jo’s show Delicious Science provides plenty of food for thought (pun intended). Both are available on Spotify and Apple podcasts, and are bound to become your new faves.
TLS Experts’ tips: supporting your heart
To help you give your heart some love this month (and beyond), we asked our experts to share their best heart-health tips:
- Focus on moderation. Going too hard, too fast with health changes is the opposite of what your heart needs, says GP Dr Michela Sorensen. Sustainable change – exercising regularly, taking rest days to recover, eating a well-balanced diet, good sleep and being kind to yourself – is key.
- Call your mates. Staying socially connected to your favourite people is good for your heart, says GP Dr Preeya Alexander.“Social isolation and loneliness can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.”
- Eat more plant foods. Think:fruit and veggies, wholegrains, nuts and seeds and pulses, advises accredited practising dietitian Jaime Rose Chambers. “This helps to support a healthy body weight and provides our body with plenty of fibre, which helps to regulate cholesterol levels and antioxidants, which help to protect and maintain the integrity of our blood vessels.”
- Choose the right fats. The fats you eat have a major influence on your blood cholesterol and other blood lipids, says Dr Joanna McMillan. “Try to include more good fats from extra virgin olive oil, avocado, oily fish and other seafood, nuts and seeds.” Confused about whether saturated fats are friend or foe? Check out a quick video explainer by Jo.
All of the above is such a great illustration of the depth of knowledge our experts have, so if it’s got you thinking about how you can improve the wellbeing of your team, clients or audience, let’s talk.
