TLS Talent

NOV 2024 – WALKING INTO NOVEMBER WITH NEW TALENT

There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of working on an exciting project for a long time then finally launching it into the world. Last month, we did just that – announcing our evolution to TLS Talent, our new brand and one that encapsulates everything we believe in… and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. I’d like to thank everyone who reached out with supportive messages and for embracing this new chapter in our business. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the feedback.

Keeping the momentum going, I’m delighted to announce another new addition to our suite of talent. Please welcome race walker Jemima Montag to the TLS Sport family. Not only does Jemima hold two Olympic medals (you might recognise her from this viral interview following her Bronze-winning individual race in Paris), she’s also the director of Play On, a bold initiative to remove barriers to physical activity for adolescent girls. This is a highly motivated, passionate young athlete who is literally walking the talk, and we’re so happy to be with her on this journey.

Speaking of launches, we’re sending all our best wishes to Kate Peck, who earlier this week welcomed her little boy Percival Jasper Peck (Percy to his friends). We can’t wait to meet him very soon.

And finally as we approach the end of the year, we’re taking 2025 enquiries for all of our brilliant speakers – the details of whom you can access here. Looking for something specific? You can even search by topic by scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the page to find exactly what you’re looking for or email our team and we can assist.

Til next month,

TLS EXPERTS

Our experts are known for their commitment to promoting important health messages, and last month was no exception. Dr Preeya Alexander lent her expertise to two health campaigns last month: the World Egg Day initiative and Cancer Council Victoria’s Food Fight project as well as appearing on the ABC’s Q & A this week to share her thoughts on Medicare and our broader health care system.

Meanwhile, nutrition scientist Dr Joanna McMillan has launched a Substack newsletter called Delicious Science for “inspiring, no-BS nutrition science and tips”, with a focus on the perimenopause and menopause transition. It’s well worth a read – sign up for Jo’s on-point insights here.

Speaking of food, Simon Toohey has created a series of delicious recipes as part of a tasty new partnership with Happy Happy Soy Boy. And if you’ve found it tough to adjust to the time change as a result of daylight savings, check out Dr Kieran Kennedy on Weekend Today, talking about what daylight savings means for our sleep.

TLS SPORTS

Since retiring from swimming back in 2022, Ellie Cole’s career has gone from strength to strength, and now she can add broadcaster and sportsreader and model to her impressive résumé. Following her successful turn as co-host of the Paris Paralympics earlier this year, Ellie was called up by the Today Show to read the sports news recently. Expect more appearances from Ellie later in the year. Ellie also took a turn on the catwalk at the L’Oreal Walk Your Worth activation, a runway show on the Sydney Harbour foreshore celebrating empowerment, unity and the resilience of women.

Meanwhile Molly Taylor stepped out of the car and onto the mic in a number of appearances as a pit lane reporter for Supercars at the Bathurst & Gold Coast events. She also got a taste of life in the passenger seat in a ride in the Boost Mobile Drift Car.

And when Tilly Kearns isn’t dazzling audiences at prestigious events (more on that below), she continues to create incredible and engaging behind the scenes content for her brand partners most recently partnering with iconic Aussie brands Arnott’s Vita-Weats and Lady Jayne.

Beach volleyball superstar Mariafe Artacho Del Solar hit the sand at Coogee Beach to showcase her brilliant coaching skills while launching the new Gym to Swim collection for Rockwear, and Claudia Hollingsworth has been nominated in the ‘One to Watch’ category for The Female Athlete Project Awards – it’s not too late to get behind her and vote for this impressive young athlete who’s had a breakout year on the track.

TLS SPEAKERS

World Menopause Day last month had our experts in demand. Shelly Horton fronted a Menopause Awareness campaign and served as MC and panel facilitator at the That Face Place Menopause Awareness Lunch. Her fellow menopause advocate, GP Dr Ginni Mansberg took part in the FOODiQ Menopause Nutrition Gap campaign and also presented at a series of menopause-related events.

New recruit Jemima Montag and Claudia Hollingsworth dazzled in a number of school and community based events sharing their journey to the Paris Olympics and how they keep themselves motivated and focused during peak training and competition periods.

Finally, it would be remiss of us not to acknowledge the four talent who shone brightly at the conversation-generating SXSW Sydney last month. Molly Taylor shared her unique insights on the future of motorsport while Dr Kieran Kennedy talked about the psychology of travel for the IHG Hotels Mind Lobby activation. Dr Gina Cleo gave a compelling keynote on how to create good habits (just before she signed copies of her book The Health Revolution for some avid fans), while Tilly Kearns flew the flag for women’s sport on the ‘Modern Market for Sports IP’ panel alongside cricket legend David Warner and industry stalwart David Gallop.
