SEPT 2024 – BIG EVENTS AND SOME BIG NEWS

While we’re all getting ultra-comfortable on the couch for the Paralympics, I’ve been reflecting on the way athletes have ascended to a new realm of significance in the public consciousness. That’s especially true for women in sport (how good was it to see the term ‘women’s Olympics’ emerge?!).

While we’ve always admired our Olympic and Paralympic competitors, we’re now increasingly recognising them as thought leaders and true experts in their field – as we should have all along. I’ve been representing experts for a long time, and it’s been fascinating to see sportspeople emerge as a new generation of public leaders alongside the experts we’ve long admired in the medical and lifestyle space. Having worked with Paralympic golden girl Ellie Cole and rally driver Molly Taylor for several years, I’m really enjoying watching the way our health experts and sporting stars are supporting each other to shape the public consciousness in positive ways. It’s an exciting time!

Speaking of positive changes, TLS has some very big news coming. We’ll be making an announcement very soon, so stay tuned!

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who sent their warm wishes after our win for Agent of the Year at the B&T Women in Media Awards last month. It was an honour to be recognised by my industry peers, and I’d like to thank my amazing team and our incredible talent for their key role in the success of TLS.

Til next month,

TLS TALENT SUITE

As the warmer weather settles in, we’ve seen an uptick in events – with TLS talent front and centre. Kate Peck had a blast at the launch of Ninja Kitchen’s new woodfire oven and grills recently, while Shelly Horton was in animal heaven as MC at the Cat Lovers Festival in Sydney. Silver medallist Tilly Kearns graced our screens on Channel 9’s Wide World of Sports yesterday and will present at the Mumbrella Sports Marketing Summit this month. She’ll also be joining the fabulous Dr Gina Cleo and Molly Taylor as featured speakers at SXSW Sydney next month, which is guaranteed to grab headlines.

Of course, the biggest event in the world right now is the Paralympics, and we’re loving seeing Ellie Cole co-hosting on Channel 9’s coverage from 5pm – 10pm every day. If you haven’t already tuned in, Ellie’s brilliant insights and energy together with the stories and performances of our Aussie Paralympians make it a must watch.

On the partnership front, Ellie’s ongoing partnership with Toyota Australia is celebrated in these beautiful content pieces playing out across the Nine network to celebrate her own achievements and the support role she plays in supporting our Paralympians of tomorrow. Watch this if you need a dose of joy and this beautiful piece in which Ellie gave a young Paralympic swimmer the surprise of her life.  This month, Ellie is also lending her voice to World Vision Australia’s emotionally charged #1000Girls campaign, shining the light on the plight of women worldwide. Closer to home Molly Taylor is celebrating a new partnership (and driving results – see what I did there :)) for automotive products brand Tridon Australia.

We’re massive fans of Jamie Oliver, so we were thrilled to hear that Dr Joanna McMillan and Dr Preeya Alexander have been chosen for the upcoming Jamie Oliver Food Hero Awards’ expert judging panel. And on the topic of food, Ellie cooked up a storm on SBS’ The Cook Up with Adam Liaw, with Tilly set to showcase her kitchen skills later this month (check it out September 13). Finally, congratulations to Claudia Hollingsworth who took home Silver in the Women’s 800m at the Junior World Athletics Championships in Peru last week. This young athlete is a star on the rise and we can’t wait to see what she’ll achieve in the lead up to the LA & Brisbane Games.
